DescriptionMulti- bit cells are used to reduce power consumption and routing congestion without compromising performance. In advanced process technology nodes below 7nm, Liberty Variation Format (LVF) data has a significant influence. Multi-bit cells significantly increase the SPICE netlist complexity and when condition. In addition, the Monte-Carlo simulation for LVF explosively increases simulation TAT. Also, the number of input/output pins in multi-bit cells may increase, which has significant impact on the characterization simulation time.
This study attempts to reduce when conditions to characterize multi-bit cells. Especially, we focus on when condition in LVF data.
