DescriptionIn our Multi Million SoC AI accelerator application which is being designed at 4nm, ensuring the voltage impact of functionality and timing is very challenging. To achieve the targeted PPA goals and ensure Power Integrity, building a robust power grid is very crucial for the project.

Traditional approach of iterative voltage drop and timing fixes after the blocks Place and Route completion causes many iterations to converge the voltage drop and timing.

Our motivation is to build a Robust Power Grid by doing Early Statistical IR Analysis using which we can catch the IR issues caused due to resistance and power density much before Place and Route is complete.

Approximately this Early Statistical IR Analysis flow in RedHawk-SC helped in reducing 1 month in IR and Timing convergence by catching multiple Power Grid and Placement issues early and making PG grid robust compared to traditional IR analysis on PnR database.
