DescriptionA broad range of lithium-ion cell balancing techniques has been proposed for fast energy equalization and efficient energy utilization in a battery pack. However, as each of them has been evaluated based on hardware prototype or own software simulation, it is hard to simulate them comparatively.
In this paper, we propose a unified modeling framework that can specify and simulate several existing cell balancing techniques that have heterogeneous characteristics.
As we abstract it into the architecture and strategy of a balancing technique separately in this framework, a number of variant cell balancing techniques can be evaluated interchangeably and verified quantitatively.
