SUMMARY:A Bridge-based Algorithm for Simultaneous Primal and Dual Defects
 Compression on Topologically Quantum-error-corrected Circuits
DESCRIPTION:Research Manuscript\n\nA Bridge-based Algorithm for Simultaneo
us Primal and Dual Defects Compression on Topologically Quantum-error-corr
 ected Circuits\n\nTseng, Chang\n\nThe required resource of a topological q
uantum error correction (TQEC) circuit can be modeled as a space-time volu
me by describing the defect movement along the time axis. It is crucial to
minimize the space-time volume with a reasonable physical qubit number an
d computation time. Existing automated bridging compression is only for du
al defects. This paper presents an algorithm to perform bridge compression
on primal and dual defects simultaneously. Besides, the compression algor
ithm performs input and output simplification and flipping to improve the
compression. Experimental results show that our algorithm can averagely re
 duce space-time volumes by 40% over previous work.\n\nTopic: Design\n\nKey
