Implementing Efficient, Precise N-bit Operations of TFHE on Commodity CPU-FPGA

DescriptionTFHE is a homomorphic encryption scheme with strong expressiveness that can directly support arbitrary expressions for arithmetic, logic and relational (ALR) operations, which consequently facilitates TFHE-encrypted data being computed more precisely in diverse ALR operations than data encrypted in other schemes. Despite such strength in computational preciseness, its higher overhead for performing the same N-bit operations than others impedes its broad deployment. To mitigate the overhead, existing software solutions on CPU approximate TFHE operations, which inevitably compromise on preciseness for efficiency in computations. Our goal is to use FPGA for enhancing performance while maximizing TFHE’s strength in terms of preciseness.
